What does the LOB do?: Fusion proactively detects, prevents, investigates, and responds to risks and threats across CIBC by bringing together people, processes, technology, and data using an integrated, cross-pillar approach. This role is under Fusion Data Analytics, so the core responsibilities include threat detection, and incident support using data and analytics.
Reason the role is open? Backfill, existing member is going on maternity leave and need to backfill until this person comes back and if funding is not an issue possibility for extension
Potential for this contract to be extended or converted to FTE?

Work Schedule (hours per week, start time): 37.5 Hours/week, 9-5 Monday to Friday/Flexible

Interview Process
- How many interviews: 2 rounds, first round will possibly consist of technical programming test, second round in -person
- Who will the interviews be with: Hiring manager,
- Duration: 30-minuts for the first round and it could be 1 hour in the second round
- In person/MS Teams: Virtual, MS Teams
- Manager Availability: Next week mid-end week start interviews The team consists of three data professionals, including Data Analysts and Data Scientists. This role would be the most senior data-focused position on the team. While there is a separate investigations team, this individual would work closely with both that group and the hiring manager's analytics team.
Who Will the Candidate Be Working with on a Daily Basis?: Data analysts, investigators, various different business partners when they support incidents.

JOB PURPOSE
Reporting to the Director of Fusion Data & Analytics, the Senior Analytics Consultant will collaborate closely with various partners across Lines of Business (LOBs) to analyze data that supports effective incident response and to develop threat detection logic utilizing cross-pillar datasets.
The Fusion
Data & Analytics team is committed to leveraging data & analytics to safeguard CIBC clients, employees, and assets from financial crimes. In this role, you will conduct data analysis to uncover emerging behaviors and patterns of threat actors concealed within the data.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
•Analytics support for incident response – enable swift incident response by supporting any data and analysis needs during incidents. Work closely with Fusion Response team and various business owners to deliver the required data to respond to incidents effectively.
•Threat detection logic development – Use cross-domain data to develop detection logics for various threat scenarios. Work closely with business partners to understand the detection targets and their behaviours to come up with alerts that will mitigate the risk.
•Coaching of junior members – help junior members with the knowledge of CIBC data and experience in handling analytics tasks.
•Automation - Support Fusion continuous improvement initiative with automation. Use your programming skills to enable business partners and innovate existing manual processes.

COMPLIANCE REQUIREMENTS/RESPONSIBILITIES
- As an employee of CIBC, the incumbent must comply with all applicable CIBC and Line of Business policies, standards, guidelines and controls
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
•You have 5+ years of experience in data and analytics especially in the financial crime detection area or incident response, or any related field, with a robust record of impact.
•You can demonstrate knowledge and experience in data handling and manipulation. Proficiency in SQL for data extraction, and scripting languages like Spark/Python for data cleaning, transformation, and analysis are highly valued.
•You are a team player. You work effectively in teams and collaborate with stakeholders across different departments.
•You have eyes for detail. Meticulousness in data handling and analysis is critical to ensure accuracy and reliability of results.

Must Have Requirements

•You can demonstrate knowledge and experience in data handling and manipulation. Proficiency in SQL for data extraction, and scripting languages like Spark/Python for data cleaning, transformation, and analysis are highly valued.
Nice to Have
•Previous CIBC experience or experience in a financial institution.
•Experience with Neo4j - graph database
