ROLE The Network/Operations Specialist I supports, administers and maintains HPHA's enterprise technology infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments. Responsibilities include network infrastructure, servers, storage, virtualization, Microsoft 365/Azure services, backup and disaster recovery, cybersecurity technologies, and associated monitoring and management platforms.
The Specialist installs, configures, monitors, troubleshoots and optimizes infrastructure services to ensure availability, performance, security and reliability. The role participates in infrastructure projects, lifecycle management, cybersecurity initiatives, incident resolution and disaster recovery activities, and works collaboratively with internal teams and external technology partners. Participation in the IT after-hours/on-call rotation may be required.
REQUIRED EDUCATION & CERTIFICATION(S)
- Two- to three-year community college diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Administration, or a related field
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE(S)
- Three to five years of progressively responsible experience in network administration, systems administration, or IT operations supporting a complex enterprise environment.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, virtualization (VMware/Horizon), and enterprise networking.
- Experience supporting enterprise network infrastructure, servers, storage, virtualization, and cloud-based technologies.
- Experience installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting computer hardware, peripherals, and network equipment.
- Experience supporting Microsoft server technologies, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and Azure environments.
- Experience implementing and supporting cybersecurity controls and best practices.
- Ability to coordinate technical infrastructure projects and manage vendor relationships.
- Experience developing and maintaining PowerShell scripts to automate administrative tasks.
- Knowledge of backup, disaster recovery, high availability, and business continuity solutions.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity best practices, including Conditional Access, multifactor authentication (MFA), Zero Trust principles, and cloud security.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills across cloud and on-premises environments.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, documentation, and stakeholder relationship skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and collaborate effectively with technical, operational, and clinical teams.
DESIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE(S) & EDUCATION
- ITIL Foundation Certification
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate.
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
- Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert.
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate
- Relevant VMware, networking, or cybersecurity certifications (e.g., VMware Certified Professional (VCP), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), or Palo Alto Networks certifications) are considered assets.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure cloud services, architecture, deployment, and administration; experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is considered an asset.
