Position Summary:
This position provides administrative support to the day-to-day operations of the 5 Fontbonne Clinics at the Charlton site. All patient related details and program activities are coordinated to ensure the smooth operation of the clinics in accordance with the policies and procedures of the hospital.
Qualifications:
-2 year post-secondary diploma in Office Administration - Health Services from an accredited school is required
- Medical terminology certificate required
- Minimum of 2 years of current (within the last 2 years) experience providing adminitrative support in a busy medical outpatient environment required
- Demonstrated extensive knowledge and experience EPIC hospital software for patient registration and patient appointment booking; Superuser template build and knowledge related to reporting in EPIC is required
- Intermediate skill level is required for MS Word and Excel
- Intermediate skill level is required for medical terminology medical spelling typing and spelling
- Clerical testing may be required as part of the selection process
- Applicants must have demonstrated an ability to accept responsibility plan prioritize and complete tasks with minimal supervision. Must be able to perform effectively both independently and as a team member
- A major component of the position is the ability to function calmly and efficiently in a friendly manner completing multiple tasks and providing customer service Effective tactful and confidential communication in person and on the telephone is essential
- Experience in GI and/or internal medicine environment an asset
- Must demonstrate a skilled attitude and behaviour
- Must have excellent organizational analytical and problem-solving skills experience with scheduling is required
- Must be capable of performing all related duties
- Good work performance and attendance record is essential
Responsibilities:
Duties include reception and registration of patients answering telephones calling patients to confirm appointments relaying messages booking patients for various tests and doctor visits typing reports and correspondence submitting reports transcription filing chart preparation and other related clerical duties as assigned by Ambulatory Clinic Supervisor and/or Manager.
