The Admin IV in the CKD clinic is responsible for patient check in, check out, demographic verification and registration in Connect Care. They are responsible for scheduling clinic appointments, including virtual (Telehealth, Zoom), telephone, initial and follow-up appointments for Chronic Kidney Disease Patients in the AKC-North program.
Responsibilities of the Admin-IV role include monitoring Connect Care work queues and assigning and triaging referrals for Chronic Kidney Disease patients. Supporting teams through in-basket messaging and the clinical support pool in Connect Care are required. The Admin-IV position also includes responsibilities such as processing Nephrologists’ orders including scheduling of diagnostic tests, therapies and consultations.
The Admin-IV is responsible for document scanning into Connect Care as well as clinic flow and clinic room assignment daily. Role includes answering the clinic telephone and redirecting patient calls to the appropriate resource. The Admin-IV role in the CKD clinic includes assisting with other clinic activities such as ordering supplies and patient education materials, directing patient flow and redirecting patients to other areas of the site.

As an Administrative Support IV, you will require advanced administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex procedures, practices and initiatives within a department or program.

Required Qualifications
Some post-secondary education.
Additional Required Qualifications
High school diploma. Successful completion of a recognized Unit Clerk/Medical Office Assistant course and medical terminology required.
Connect Care
Experience. Computer skills including familiarity with Word, Excel, Outlook.
Microsoft
Teams and Zoom Experience Experience with Telehealth. Previous experience in an outpatient clinic. The successful applicant must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, and proven organization and time management skills. Must be able to work effectively in fast-paced, stressful situations. Must be able to work well independently. Must be able to type on a keyboard for extended periods of the workday Must be able to lift 20 pounds and push a bariatric patient in a wheelchair.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in Alberta Kidney Care-North. Experience in Chronic Kidney Disease, General Nephrology, or Diabetic Nephrology Clinics.
