Position Overview: The Aircraft De-icer, reporting to the Deicing Operations Manager, will work as part of a team to safely and efficiently operate aircraft de-icing trucks for the purpose of de-icing aircraft during inclement weather while ensuring the well-being of self and all internal and external stakeholders.

Location: YHZ - 270 Goudey Dr, Goffs, NS B2T 1M6

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Including but not limited to):

- Uphold and follow the duties related to de/anti-icing aircraft according to procedures for both airlines and participate in pre-planning for de/anti-icing and ADF recovery events by performing checks on equipment and servicing equipment with fuel or glycol;
- Operate equipment within close proximity to airfield personnel, aircraft and other airfield equipment safely and efficiently;
- Be alert and aware of other apron traffic, and to only begin de-icing when it can be done safely without interfering with aircraft movement. AIRCRAFT ALWAYS HAVE THE RIGHT OF WAY;
- Promptly and accurately complete all associated paperwork as required;
- Professionally communicate with aircraft operators (pilots), spraying operators, GRV operators,



and other stakeholders in a clear and concise manner via two-way radio;
- Ensure proper shutdown of pads, including paperwork and logbooks; that all maintenance issues have been logged and reported to maintenance and all proper shutdown procedures for the equipment are followed;
- Testing of aircraft de-icing fluids as required;
- Perform daily Vehicle walk-around inspections utilizing appropriate checklists;
- Promote the best interests of the company by fostering goodwill and support between IDS and its customers, ensuring Inland's policy of superior service and satisfaction are met;
- Provide support to other areas of the business, including within the fluid processing facility, when required
- Accomplish any other tasks that may, from time to time, be assigned by management

Required Skills and Experience:

- High School Diploma or GED;
- Minimum 18 years of age;
- Basic computer skills and ability to use a laptop/iPad
- Working knowledge of Microsoft programs
- Ability to read, write, speak and communicate efficiently in English
- Valid driver's license (Class 3 considered an asset)

- Clean driver's abstract
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Airside Vehicle Operators Permit (AVOP)

Additional Info:

- Must be comfortable working in all weather conditions
- Must have ability to lift, push, and pull objects up to 20 pounds regularly; occasionally up to 50 pounds
- Must be physically fit and able to perform all operational requirements
- Must be comfortable working in a confined space for extended periods of time
- Must be comfortable working at heights
