Assembly Technician II
Location: Oakville, Ontario
Job Type: Full-Time
Compensation: $29.00 – $33.00/hour Worklynx Recruitment Inc. is currently hiring an Assembly Technician II for one of our clients located in Oakville.
About the Role In this technical production role, you will support the scale-up of manufacturing processes for electro-mechanical assemblies, modules, and instruments.
You’ll focus on building and testing prototype units while contributing to the development of assembly and testing processes as the operation transitions into full-scale production. This role works closely with Manufacturing Engineering and Design teams to refine processes and improve product quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble electro-mechanical modules, sub-assemblies, and instruments with high accuracy and consistency
- Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections and testing, documenting results
- Build prototype assemblies and support design-for-excellence (DFx) feedback to engineering teams
- Assist in developing and improving work instructions, rework procedures, and assembly processes
- Collaborate with Manufacturing and Design Engineering to implement process improvements
- Support setup of production stations and point-of-use inventory systems
- Apply 5S and lean manufacturing principles to maintain an organized workspace
- Troubleshoot assembly issues and support root cause analysis of defects
- Participate in cGMP process development and implementation
- Assist with equipment setup, validation, and preventive maintenance
- Contribute to FMEAs, risk assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Train recent employees on assembly processes and verify competency
- Support quality investigations including non-conformances, deviations, and CAPAs
Qualifications & Experience
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field
- 2–5 years of experience in medical device or electronic assembly (cGMP preferred)
- Experience working with software-driven or automated equipment
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities
- Ability to multitask and collaborate across cross-functional teams Nice-to-Have:
- Experience with lean manufacturing (5S, Kanban)
- Experience troubleshooting complex electro-mechanical systems
