The Asset Management

Supervisor position leads Minnesota IT Services' (MNIT) Asset Management operational activities, providing daily direction to the ITSM (IT Service Management) Asset Unit and ensuring consistent, high-quality support for IT asset lifecycle processes across 90+ state agencies, boards, councils, and commissions. The role oversees IT asset tracking, request fulfillment, mobile device services, and the ServiceNow IT Asset Management (ITAM) /Configuration Management Data Base (CMDB) toolset, ensuring data accuracy, policy alignment, and compliance with state and federal standards. In this role, you will manage a multidisciplinary technical team, coordinate statewide asset procedures, support enterprise reporting and audits, and serve as a key point of contact for hardware vendors, mobile device providers, finance partners, and agency stakeholders.

This position maintains MNIT's enterprise hardware and mobile device inventory, support forecasting and budgeting activities, and uphold ITIL-aligned asset practices that ensure reliable, secure, and efficient asset operations across the enterprise.

Telework Eligibility Depends On Residence

Candidates living in Minnesota or within 50 miles of the worksite in a bordering state (Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin) may telework up to 50%. Minnesota residents living more than 50 miles from the worksite may be eligible to telework more than 50%. Candidates living 50 miles or more from the worksite in a bordering state may work onsite 100% or may be telework eligible if relocating within 50 miles.

Position requires a minimum of four (4) years of IT experience in IT Asset Management, including working with asset lifecycle processes (receipt, inventory, tracking, auditing, and disposition).





Experience with IT Service Management (ITSM) tools such as ServiceNow, performing asset tracking, CMDB updates, reporting, or configuration activities.

Experience coordinating IT asset processes across multiple teams (e.g., service delivery units, procurement, finance, or agency partners). Customer-focused approach grounded in active-listening, empathy, and solution-oriented problem-solving, with demonstrated leadership and people engagement skills that support positive user experiences and high-performing teams.

Experience developing or implementing enterprise IT asset policies, procedures, or standards.

Experience working with mobile device management programs, vendor portals, or billing/data analysis.

Experience with asset verification cycles, audit readiness, or coordinating compliance activities.

Experience with hardware lifecycle forecasting, budgeting, or managing vendor relationships for large-scale IT asset environments.

Experience with ServiceNow administration, reporting, integrations, or data quality improvements specific to asset or CMDB modules.

Experience producing enterprise-level dashboards, asset metrics, or utilization/compliance reporting.
