Must work weekends.Affiliation: L416 OutsideNumber of Positions Open: To be DeterminedPosting Period: 10-Feb-2026 to 25-Feb-2026Major ResponsibilitiesOperates any automobile, small truck, equipment or combination thereof up to 11,000 kg with towed equipment not exceeding 4,500 kgOperates vehicle/equipment driven on the road or road allowance for a variety of functions including transporting materials, equipment and/or personnel to various sitesOperates vehicles/equipment such as but not limited to cars, light duty trucks, vans with trailer and/or attachments, sidewalk vacuums, ploughs or sweepers with attachments, skid steers with or without attachments (driven/used on the road between locations) forklifts, farm tractors, tractor loaders with attachments, grass cutting equipment that is self propelled, multi-decked (driven on the road between locations with cutting widths of more than 4 feet and less than 12 feet in width)Loads and unloads vehicle/equipment of various materialsOperates mechanical equipment attached to vehicles/equipmentPerforms other duties at this wage grade level or lower such as labouring type duties,
maintenance and cleaning activities when not operating assigned vehicle or equipmentAvailable for snow shovelling/plowing and other winter maintenance activities, including the operating of various pieces of winter maintenance equipment in accordance with the Collective AgreementCompletes reports (e.G. Driver's Collision/Incident Report) related to assigned duties and responsibilitiesPerforms Daily Pre-Trip Inspection Report (Circle Check); identified and reports vehicle and equipment malfunctions; performs minor non mechanical repairs to equipment, maintains vehicle and equipment in a clean and tidy conditionAssists with traffic control as requiredPerforms work in a safe, efficient and courteous mannerKey QualificationsYour application must describe your qualifications as they relate to:Must possess and be able to maintain a valid Province of Ontario, Class "G" Driver's License and must have or shall be required to obtain required City permit for assigned vehicles(s) and equipment(s).Must be physically capable of performing required duties (accommodation will be provided in all parts of the hiring process as required under the City's Employment Accommodation Policy and the Joint Modified Work Program in the Collective Agreement)
