SCHEDULE3 admin days (9-5pm)2 direct support shifts that will require to work weekend/evening shiftCan change based on company needsDUTIESTrailblazers Life Choices Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing services to those who are experiencing intellectual challenges, mental illnesses and physical disabilities. You as a part of Trailblazers life choices Inc. will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day functioning of the individual(s) and staff within the house. You will plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the delivery of care services within your department (house), ensure a safe work environment, drive productivity, and foster engagement among employees.Main duties include:High Work Standards: work ethic, attention to detail, time management, task completion, consistency, follow up, coaching, patience, influencing and modeling professional behaviorPersonal Management/ Development Skills: accountability, self-management, stress tolerance, flexibility, creativity, initiative, working in teams or independently, problem solving, openness, willingness to learn, receives feedbackProfessional Skills: interpersonal and communication skills, influencing, collaboration and the ability to establish effective relationships/trust with others, within professional boundariesMANAGEMENT:Manage all daily living arrangements in the house, ensuring all aspects of care meet community standards and best professional practice.Approve staff timesheets and vacation applications.Coordinate accurate recording of client fees, maintain residence financials,
and follow up on outstanding debts.Manage program resources and information to achieve planned outcomes.Inclusion Systems – Create biweekly staff schedules.Inclusion Systems – Ensure daily pay accurately matches the timesheet summary (weekly).Payroll – Submit staff timesheets and complete the timesheet summary.LEADERSHIP:Coordinate and run monthly team meetings to discuss client needs, house operations, and staff concerns.Provide direction and support to house staff to ensure high-quality service delivery.Oversee implementation of care plans and ensure staff are following proper procedures.CLIENT SUPPORT:Keep all client records updated and prepare/present IPPs for each participant.Be responsible for medical administration in the house and maintain all associated records.Organize recreational and leisure activities according to individual needs and interests.Plan and coordinate outings for the house community, including necessary risk assessments and outing plans.Accompany individuals to medical and dental appointments as required.COMMUNICATION:Communicate necessary information regarding individuals to staff, parents, and authorities in a timely and appropriate manner.Serve as a liaison between the house, families, and external professionals when needed.RISK AND SAFETY MANAGEMENT:Prepare risk assessments for outings and activities.Ensure care delivery follows safety procedures, protocols,
and best practices.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSMandatory:FemaleBe at least 18 years old.First Aid/CPR Certificate and NVCI Certificate.Positive attitude and belief that persons with disabilities have the right / responsibility to define and pursue their life choices, and pursue active participation and involvement in the community.Satisfactory criminal record check, driver abstract, child abuse registry check and adult abuse registry checkAbility to work independently and as part of a teamPrevious residential experience and understanding of Manitoba licensing legislation, regulations and standards, as well as, planning, organizational and administrative skills.Knowledge of basic health and safety rulesCompletion of a high school diploma or equivalency.Robust written and verbal communication; Good interpersonalskills.A valid Class 5 Driver License with clear driving abstract and reliable transportationPreferred:Knowledge of developmental disabilities.Certificate in Disability and Community Support.Crisis Prevention Intervention, Medication Administration, Proactive Procedures and Behavioral Strategies, Foundations and Disabilities TrainingSkills in assisting individuals in anger management, daily living, self-help, etc.Three years' experience in a related role and supporting individuals with disabilities, demonstrating empathy and developing practical, supportive and effective working relationships.Job Types: Full-time, PermanentPay: From $20.00 per hourBenefits:Casual dressExtended health carePaid time offWellness programApplication question(s):How many years of residential support worker experience do you have?Are you female?Do you have a car?Education:Secondary School (preferred)Licence/Certification:First Aid Certificate (preferred)Class 5 (f or i) Driver's License (required)Work Location: In person
