Trumotive Auto Service is looking for a motivated and dependable Automotive Service Technician or Apprentice to join our growing team.

We are an independent automotive repair shop in Newmarket focused on providing high-quality repairs, honest recommendations, and a outstanding experience for our customers. We’re looking for someone who takes pride in their work, has the right attitude, and wants to continue developing their skills in the automotive trade.

What You’ll Be Doing

Depending on your experience and skill level, responsibilities may include:

- Perform vehicle inspections, maintenance, and repairs
- Assist with or perform brake, suspension, steering, exhaust, and driveline repairs
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and drivability concerns
- Perform scheduled and preventative maintenance services
- Assist with engine cooling system and HVAC/A/C diagnosis and repairs
- Perform tire installation, balancing, rotation, and repairs
- Use scan tools, diagnostic equipment, wiring diagrams, and service information
- Accurately document vehicle findings and recommended repairs
- Communicate with the Service Advisor regarding diagnosis, repair requirements, and additional concerns
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Follow proper repair procedures and shop safety practices
- Perform quality control checks before vehicles are returned to customers

For less experienced applicants, duties and responsibilities will grow as your knowledge, confidence, and abilities develop.

Previous automotive experience is an asset, but it is not required.

A 310S licence is not required for this position. We are open to licensed technicians, registered apprentices, individuals with some automotive experience, or someone looking to enter the trade and build a career as an Automotive Service Technician.

For us, the right attitude, willingness to learn, and genuine interest in the trade are just as important as previous experience.

Tools

Technicians are responsible for supplying and maintaining their own personal hand tools.

We understand that someone entering the trade may not already have a complete tool collection. You do not need to show up on your first day with a fully stocked toolbox.

If you already have your own tools, great. If you’re just starting out, we’re comfortable with you building your tool collection over time as your experience and responsibilities grow.

We’re looking for someone who is willing to invest in themselves and their career as they progress in the trade.
