About the Job

AKOS Farm Foods is looking for a reliable, friendly, trustworthy, and hardworking Sales Associate to join our team at our African grocery food store in Brandon.

The ideal candidate enjoys working with people, provides excellent customer service, and is willing to take on different responsibilities to help keep the store clean, organized, and running smoothly.

Responsibilities

- Provide friendly and welcoming customer service
- Assist customers with finding products and answering questions
- Operate the POS/cash register and process payments accurately
- Open and close the store
- Keep the store clean, organized, and presentable
- Stock and organize shelves and products
- Assist with inventory counts and inventory management
- Receive and organize incoming products
- Assist with meat cutting and preparation
- Lift and move products weighing up to 50 lbs
- Monitor stock levels and report products that need to be reordered
- Follow store cleanliness, safety, and cash-handling procedures
- Help develop ideas to improve the business and customer experience
- Work well with other team members




- Perform other duties required for daily store operations

Qualifications

- Previous customer service or retail experience is preferred
- Grocery or food-store experience is an asset
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Friendly, respectful, and approachable
- Trustworthy and dependable
- Comfortable using a POS/cash register
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Willing to learn meat cutting and other store procedures
- Comfortable with cleaning and maintaining the store
