Buyer – Manufacturing

About the Role

We are looking for an organized and proactive Buyer to join our Purchasing team. This role is responsible for sourcing and purchasing the materials required to support our manufacturing operations, while maintaining solid supplier relationships and ensuring materials are available when needed.

The Buyer will work closely with Production, Inventory, Quality, and Accounting to manage purchasing requirements, monitor supplier performance, resolve issues, and identify opportunities to improve cost, quality, and delivery.

What You'll Do

- Source and purchase production materials, components, equipment, and supplies.
- Identify and evaluate suppliers, obtain quotations, and negotiate pricing, terms, lead times, and minimum order quantities.
- Create and manage purchase orders and maintain accurate delivery information in the ERP system.
- Review MRP requirements, inventory levels, production schedules, and supplier lead times to support material planning.
- Monitor critical materials and proactively address shortages, delays, and other supply issues.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and monitor performance related to quality, pricing, and On-Time Delivery.
- Coordinate supplier returns, replacements, credits, and other material-related issues.
- Work with Quality and suppliers to resolve non-conforming materials and support supplier corrective actions.




- Ensure purchased materials meet applicable quality, regulatory, and customer requirements.
- Assist with supplier evaluations, purchasing analysis, and reporting.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and improvements to purchasing and supply chain processes.
- Work collaboratively with internal departments to ensure production requirements are met.

What We're Looking For

- 2–3 years of purchasing, procurement, or buying experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience working with ERP and/or MRP systems specifically INFOR SyteLine or similar systems.
- Experience sourcing materials and working directly with suppliers.
- Robust negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team.
- Reliable, proactive, and able to manage competing priorities.
- Post-secondary education in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field is preferred.
