Cabinetmaker & Finish Installer The role of a Cabinetmaker in the Millwork Shop is to manage all aspects of a custom millwork project.

Qualifications:

- A minimum of 3 years carpentry experience
- Completion of High School and/or College, Vocational or Technical Training
- Trade Certification
- Safety certifications, valid and up-to-date, including: Working at Heights, Elevated Work Platform and WHMIS (may be trained upon hire as needed)
- Knowledge of job site safety rules and regulations
- A valid driver's license
- Vehicle to get from home/shop to job site
- Thorough knowledge of construction materials, methods and tools for cabinet making
- Ability to work with tools efficiently
- Strong skills in mathematics

Responsibilities:

General

- Assist the Shop Manager with day-to-day production activities
- Receive project assignments, production duties and general direction from the Shop Manager

Production

- Provide support to Estimators by providing information and specification for products, materials and labour
- Review shop drawings with the Designers, verifying dimensions and details
- Confirm scope of work for projects with the Project Manager
- Determine schedules for deadlines and installation with the Project Manager




- Establish project priorities
- Coordinate project duties with team members as necessary
- Order long-lead and specialty items in a timely manner
- Order all materials for projects in a timely manner to increase efficiency
- Communicate with the Design Manager and the Project Manager to convey any installation challenges, coordination items and change orders
- Coordinate installation process
- Collaborate with Project Managers and Site Supervisors to ensure the millwork project is delivered on-time and in-budget

Quality Control

- Ensure all millwork products are completed safely, efficiently, and in a timely manner
- Evaluate materials and products to determine if there are any flaws or quality issues
- Ensure the quality of all millwork produced meets established Company standards

Health and Safety

- Ensure that proper safety practices and procedures are implemented at all times
- Ensure that proper Personal Protection Equipment is worn at all times
- Ensure that dust collection systems and proper ventilation is used and maintained at all times
- Ensure that work areas are cleaned daily
- Ensure proper disposal of hazardous/toxic liquid or materials

Pay: $22.00-$35.00 per hour
