COMPENSATION

$500.00 minimum per project, depending on project size, preparation requirements and finishing system.

DESCRIPTION

We are looking for an experienced independent cabinet finisher or spray painter for ongoing, project-based work.

Projects may include kitchen cabinets, doors, drawer fronts, panels, millwork and custom furniture components. Work will be offered as projects become available. There are no guaranteed hours or minimum volume.

Each project’s scope, price, materials, responsibilities and completion date will be agreed upon in writing before work begins.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Review project drawings, component counts and finish specifications
- Provide a price and estimated completion date
- Prepare MDF, solid wood, veneer and previously finished components
- Sand, clean, fill, mask, prime, stain, spray and clear-coat as required
- Produce colour and sheen samples for approval
- Achieve a consistent, professional cabinet-grade finish
- Identify substrate or preparation problems before finishing
- Maintain a clean and safe work area




- Complete projects by the agreed deadline
- Correct finishing defects for which the contractor is responsible
- Protect finished components during handling and storage

REQUIREMENTS
- Professional cabinet, furniture or architectural-millwork finishing experience
- Strong spray-finishing skills
- Portfolio showing completed cabinet-finishing work
- Knowledge of primers, paints, stains, clear coats and approved catalyzed finishing systems
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Reliable transportation

COMPENSATION AND WORK ARRANGEMENT
- Payment is made per completed project
- No guaranteed hours or minimum amount of work
- Project pricing must be approved before work begins
- Responsibility for coatings, supplies and equipment will be confirmed for each project
- Payment terms: Net 15 days of inspection, acceptance and receipt of invoice

This is a current opportunity for experienced independent finishing contractors. We do not guarantee ongoing or exclusive work.

Pay: $18.57-$34.38 per hour
