THIS IS FOR YOU IF YOU ARE:

MER Building Services Ltd. is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Cabinet Maker to join our growing in-house cabinetry and renovation team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the fabrication, assembly, and installation of custom cabinetry and millwork for residential renovation projects. This role requires a high level of craftsmanship, precision, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Duties

- Read and interpret shop drawings, plans, and specifications
- Accurately measure, cut, and prepare materials including plywood, MDF, hardwoods, and veneers
- Fabricate cabinet boxes, doors, drawers, panels, and custom millwork components
- Assemble cabinetry using appropriate joinery techniques, fasteners, and adhesives
- Perform edge banding, routing, drilling, and preparation for hardware installation
- Install hinges, drawer slides, pulls, soft-close systems, and specialty hardware
- Sand, prepare, and assist with finishing as required (paint, stain, lacquer, or oil)




- Conduct quality control inspections to ensure products meet design specifications and company standards
- Install cabinetry on-site when required, ensuring cabinets are level, plumb, and securely fastened
- Coordinate with project managers, designers, and other trades during installation
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Safely operate and maintain woodworking machinery and hand tools

Requirements

- Minimum 2–5 years of hands-on experience in cabinet making, millwork, or custom woodworking
- Proven ability to read and interpret shop drawings, plans, and specifications
- Strong skills in measuring, cutting, assembling, and installing cabinetry
- Experience working with plywood, MDF, hardwoods, veneers, and laminates
- Knowledge of cabinet hardware systems (hinges, drawer slides, soft-close mechanisms)
- Ability to operate woodworking machinery and hand tools safely
- High level of attention to detail and quality workmanship
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Understanding of workplace safety practices
- Physical ability to lift materials and perform shop and on-site installation work
- Two previous employer references
- Very good spoken and written English

Job Type: Full time

Pay: $23.00-$26.00 per hour
