Intermediate Backend Developer – Camunda / Orchestration

Location: Hybrid – Toronto or Waterloo preferred

Role Summary:

We are seeking Intermediate Backend Developers to support the development of an orchestration and workflow layer for a banking technology initiative. The role will focus on building Camunda-based workflows, backend services, APIs, and system integrations to support application lifecycle tracking and electronic document workflows.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and implement Camunda/BPMN workflows and orchestration logic.
- Develop backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
- Build RESTful APIs and microservices.
- Integrate backend systems using APIs and messaging/queue patterns.
- Support event-driven, multi-step transaction workflows.
- Participate in Agile development, code reviews, testing, and CI/CD activities.

Must-Have Skills




- Camunda / BPMN – Camunda 8 / Zeebe preferred
- Java / Spring Boot – REST APIs and microservices
- Systems Integration – APIs, JMS/ActiveMQ, messaging
- Event-driven architecture / service orchestration
- Agile / Git / CI/CD – GitHub and pull requests

Nice-to-Have
- Alfresco, OnBase, Documentum, or OpenText
- MuleSoft or API gateway experience
- Salesforce integration
- Financial services / banking experience
