Permanent Full time – 40 hours per week

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

Under the general supervision of the Department Manager or his designate, the Carpenter is accountable and responsible for ensuring that all the construction, maintenance and repairs of all buildings, structures, form work, fences, signs and the like are conducted in an efficient, planned and professional manner.

This position is also required to perform carpentry duties as related to the operation and maintenance of the public works and water and sewer works of the Town.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

- Applicants must have knowledge and skill in the use of carpenters tools and equipment, a Journeyperson’s certificate in Carpentry;
- A minimum of five (5) years experience in carpentry trade;
- Any equivalent combination of related education or experience may be considered;
- Valid Class Five (5) Driver’s License.

SKILLS

- Ability to perform carpentry and painting involved in the construction, repair and/or maintenance of buildings, fences, form work,



curb, gutter, water and sewer, etc.
- Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision.
