Little Bloomers Child Care Centre is looking for a caring, reliable, and adaptable Casual Supply Early Childhood Assistant (ECA) to support our classrooms on an as-needed basis.

This position is ideal for someone looking for occasional or casual childcare work. The successful candidate will provide classroom support and coverage when needed, including staff absences, vacation days, sick days, professional development days, or other staffing requirements.

Position Details

- Position: Casual Supply Early Childhood Assistant (ECA)

- Schedule: As needed; shifts are not guaranteed and will depend on centre requirements

- Start Date: September 1, 2026
- Wage: $17.60 - $22.00 per hour

Responsibilities
- Assist educators in providing a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment for children.
- Support children's daily routines, including meals, rest periods, transitions, indoor and outdoor play, and learning activities.
- Actively supervise children and help ensure their health, safety, and well-being.
- Assist with developmentally appropriate activities and play experiences.
- Support positive interactions and relationships with children.
- Assist with classroom organization, cleaning, sanitizing, and maintaining a safe environment.
- Follow the direction of the RECE or classroom lead.




- Communicate respectfully and professionally with children, families, and staff.
- Follow Little Bloomers' policies and procedures and all applicable childcare licensing, health, and safety requirements.
- Provide support in different classrooms as needed.

Qualifications
- Early Childhood Assistant (ECA) qualification or relevant childcare experience.
- Previous experience working with children in a childcare or early learning environment is an asset.
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR-C certification is preferred/required as applicable.
- Vulnerable Sector Check required.
- Health and immunization documentation as required by the centre.
- Knowledge of child development and appropriate childcare practices.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable, responsible, and flexible.
- Ability to work effectively in a busy childcare environment.
