Role Description The Certified Athletic Therapist is a full-time, on-site role located in Petawawa, ON. Day-to-day responsibilities include assessing musculoskeletal injuries, developing treatment and rehabilitation plans, and providing hands-on care such as manual therapy, exercise prescription, and injury prevention strategies. The role involves working closely with clients to monitor progress, adjust treatment plans, and educate them on safe return-to-play and activity modification.
The therapist will maintain thorough clinical documentation, collaborate with other health professionals, and support clinic operations,
including occasional evening or weekend coverage as needed.
Qualifications
- Certified Athletic Therapist (e.g., CAT(C) or equivalent), in positive standing with the relevant professional association.
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Athletic Therapy, Kinesiology, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in injury assessment, treatment planning, and rehabilitation of sport-related and orthopedic conditions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with diverse clients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
- Ability to work independently in a clinical setting, manage a caseload, and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Current first aid and CPR certification; experience with emergency care and field-side coverage is an asset.
- Familiarity with record-keeping, clinical documentation standards, and basic use of clinic management software.
- Willingness to engage in continuing education and professional development to maintain and enhance clinical skills.
- Availability to work full-time on-site, with flexibility for occasional evenings or weekends based on client needs.
