Job Summary

We are currently seeking a highly motivated Medical Laboratory Technologist with core lab experience for specialized travel contracts across British Columbia. This full-time, on-site role involves performing routine and specialized testing across hematology, chemistry, microbiology, and transfusion medicine, while ensuring accurate, timely results that support patient diagnosis and treatment. Travel and housing are covered, making this an ideal opportunity for professionals looking to explore new regions while advancing their careers. Responsibilities

- Perform a variety of laboratory tests on blood, tissue, and other specimens with precision and adherence to safety protocols
- Prepare, process, and label specimens, ensuring accurate documentation
- Analyze and validate test results, reporting findings to physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers in a timely manner
- Operate, calibrate,



and troubleshoot laboratory instruments; maintain quality control records
- Follow infection control, safety, and regulatory standards at all times
- Assist with inventory management, including ordering and storing supplies
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to support accurate diagnosis and treatment decisions
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and assist with training new staff or students

Qualifications & Skills

- Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Technology program
- Proven experience in a hospital or core clinical laboratory setting preferred
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and laboratory procedures relevant to diagnostic testing
- Experience with quality control practices, including calibration, troubleshooting, and documentation
- Proficiency in phlebotomy is highly desirable
- Excellent analytical skills with solid attention to detail
- Ability to operate complex laboratory equipment safely and efficiently
- Robust organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting
- Effective communication and collaboration skills within an interdisciplinary clinical setting
- Comfort with laboratory information systems and electronic health records is an asset
- Knowledge of Canadian healthcare standards and privacy legislation
- Willingness to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends, as required
