Environmental Defence Canada (EDC) is a leading Canadian environmental advocacy organization that works with government, industry and individuals to defend clean water, a safe climate and healthy communities. EDC is looking to engage communities in Oakville for a 4-week canvassing project with the possibility of an extension (up 12 hours/week) with flexibility in scheduling work hours (daytime, evenings and weekends). The pay is $22/hour.
Purpose of the Role The Community Outreach Coordinator, who is currently residing in Oakville or has strong community ties there, will be responsible for targeted outreach to communities in Oakville.
This will involve primarily supporting Reconnect Oakville events like hikes and engaging with people at events and festivals. The Community Outreach Coordinator will work closely with other outreach staff and will report to the Engagement Manager.

- Ability to engage with the public in a friendly and qualified manner
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A passion for the environment and community engagement
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
- Organization and good attention to detail
- Access to a reliable vehicle and a valid Ontario driver’s license an asset
