Connections Early Years Family Centre is the lead agency for Talk 2 Me, the local Preschool Speech and Language Program in Windsor and Essex County. We are a family-centred organization that provides integrated support, learning, early identification and intervention services for families with children from birth to 6 years of age.

The Community Speech and Language Pathologist is a contract, on-site role based in Windsor, ON. This role involves providing assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for preschool children with speech, language, communication, and related feeding/swallowing concerns within community and early years settings. The pathologist collaborates with parents, caregivers, and interdisciplinary team members to develop individualized intervention plans and provide coaching to support children’s communication development.

Day-to-day tasks include conducting screenings and formal assessments, delivering individual and group therapy sessions, maintaining accurate clinical documentation, and participating in case conferences and community outreach as needed. The role also includes contributing to program development,



adhering to qualified and ethical standards, and engaging in ongoing professional learning.

Qualifications

- Strong skills in Speech Therapy and management of Speech and Communication Disorders.
- Expertise in assessing and treating Language Disorders in early childhood populations.
- Knowledge and experience in identifying and managing Dysphagia in young children.
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders.
- Current registration and good standing with the appropriate provincial regulatory college (e.g., CASLPO).
- Experience working with infants and preschool-aged children in community or early years settings.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with families, caregivers, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Strong documentation, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Clear criminal record check and vulnerable sector screening, as required.
- Ability to travel within Windsor-Essex and surrounding areas as needed for service delivery.
