Thyssen Mining is currently seeking a Corporate Safety Training Coordinator for a fulltime permanent position in Regina, SK.

The Corporate Safety Training

Coordinator is responsible for coordinating, administering, and continuously improving the company's safety training and competency programs across all operations. Based in Regina, Saskatchewan, this position supports project sites by ensuring employees maintain required certifications, training records, and regulatory compliance while promoting a strong safety culture throughout the organization.

This role works closely with site management, human resources, safety personnel, training providers, and employees to schedule, track, and report on training requirements. The Corporate Safety Training Coordinator serves as the corporate administrator for training databases and learning management systems, ensuring accurate records and compliance with legislative, client, and company requirements. Key Responsibilities

Training Administration &

• Coordination

- Coordinate health and safety training programs across all company operations.
- Schedule internal and external training courses, orientation programs, and refresher training.
- Coordinate instructor availability, training materials, facilities, and registrations.
- Support onboarding and orientation programs for new employees.
- Ensure training requirements are communicated to employees and supervisors.

Competency & • Compliance Management

- Maintain employee training and competency records.
- Track certification expiry dates and coordinate recertification requirements.
- Monitor compliance with company, client, and regulatory training requirements.

- Develop and maintain training matrices for employees, contractors, and site personnel.
- Ensure competency records remain current and accurate across all project locations.

Learning Management System (LMS) Administration





- Serve as the corporate administrator for the Learning Management System and training databases.
- Enter, update, and verify training records and certifications.
- Generate compliance reports and training dashboards.

- Support system improvements and data quality initiatives.
- Assist users with LMS access and functionality as required.

Reporting & • Documentation

- Generate weekly, monthly, and quarterly training compliance reports.
- Prepare training statistics and key performance indicators for management review.
- Maintain organized electronic and physical training records.

- Support audit preparation by providing training documentation and compliance records.
- Assist with document control related to training materials and procedures.

Safety Program Support

- Support corporate safety initiatives and continuous improvement programs.
- Assist with the development and maintenance of training materials and competency standards.
- Participate in safety meetings and training-related projects.

- Assist with regulatory and client audits related to training compliance.
- Promote company health and safety standards and best practices.

Site & • Operational Support

- Provide training administration support to project sites and operational personnel.
- Coordinate training requirements for mobilizations and new projects.
- Assist sites with competency tracking and workforce certification requirements.

- Travel to project locations when required to support training initiatives.
- Liaise with external training providers and regulatory agencies as needed.

Education





- Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health & • Safety, Adult Education, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

- Safety-related certifications or professional designations are considered an asset.

Experience

- Minimum five (5) years of experience in training coordination, safety administration, workforce development, or a related field.

- Experience managing training records, competency tracking systems, or Learning Management Systems (LMS).
- Experience supporting multiple work sites is preferred.
- Mining, construction, industrial, or heavy-equipment industry experience is considered an asset.

Knowledge & • Skills

- Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety training requirements.
- Experience administering Learning Management Systems and training databases.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

- Strong organizational and administrative abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
