The Beedie Graduate Programs team is a team-oriented, high-performing team responsible for the successful delivery and ongoing development of the Beedie School of Business’s portfolio of nine graduate programs. The team oversees the full student and program lifecycle, including recruitment, admissions, program operations, and student services. Working in a dynamic and rapidly evolving market, team members collaborate closely to enhance the student experience, strengthen program quality, and continuously optimize course and program offerings in response to emerging needs and opportunities.

About The Role The Course Production Technician supports the development and delivery of high-quality courses in our learning management system by building and maintaining Canvas LMS shells. Working closely with faculty and staff, this role helps to transform course materials into well-structured, accessible, and engaging learning experiences. The technician applies program templates, organizes content, integrates multimedia, and ensures compliance with accessibility and institutional standards.





Success in the role requires strong technical skills in Canvas, strict attention to detail, and the ability to manage a multitude of tasks and projects under tight timelines. The ideal candidate is collaborative, resourceful, and committed to enhancing the student learning experience through effective use of leaning technologies and content management platforms.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and technologically adept, with demonstrated proficiency across a range of learning technologies, project and content management platforms, and video and audio production tools. They thrive in a diverse, collaborative workplace and communicate with confidence, professionalism, and sound judgment when engaging with colleagues, instructors, and senior leaders. The successful candidate brings a strong commitment to quality, takes pride in producing excellent work, and approaches responsibilities with initiative, reliability, and a high degree of professionalism.

Qualifications

High school graduation and one year of post-secondary education and training in educational technology, computing science or a related field. 3 years minimum experience. An equivalent combination of formal education, certificate/program of study ad experience is acceptable.

- LMS Proficiency (Canvas): Ability to set up course shells, modules,



quizzes, assignments, and gradebooks.
- Course Design Support: Applying templates, learning objects, and course design standards consistently.
- Content Formatting & Organization: Structuring modules, and multimedia so courses are intuitive for students.
- Multimedia Editing: Basic skills in video/audio editing, captioning, image optimization, and graphic design.
- Attention to Detail: Ensuring content accuracy, consistency, and alignment with faculty instructions.
