PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Wood Production; Manufacturing of simple to complex millwork pieces

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Read shop models accurately for measurement and hardware details;

- Manufacture wood components and assemblies with varying degrees of difficulty according to the schedule; .

- Ensure quality standards are maintained on all components by doing quality checks on parts during processing and upon completion;

- Ensure work is completed safely while using an assortment of hand and power tools;

- Perform basic equipment maintenance including blade, bit, and tooling changes on all power tools.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

- Heavy Lifting

- Proficient in the use of woodworking equipment

- Able to interpret Architectural Drawings

- Proficient at reading a tape measure to an accuracy of 1/64”

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Knowledge of Maintenance practices on machinery used in specific area of assignment

- Knowledge of solid wood construction

- Knowledge of solid surface (Corian) manufacturing

- Adhere to ISO standards for accurate checking of parts

- Working with Veneer is considered an asset





- Proficient at reading a tape measure to an accuracy of 1/32”

- Sizing of all complex materials such as angles, mitres, curves using table saws and other wood working equipment

- Comfortable with repetitive work routines as they may occur

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

- Minimum 2 years- experience in woodworking industry

- Safety Conscious: Practices/supports safe work practices, respects EHS policy/procedures- always.

- Very familiar with a manufacturing setting, SPECIFICALLY a Wood Fabrication Shop
