Senior Data Engineer
Contract Period: 6 months to start
Work Arrangement: Hybrid – 3 days per week onsite
Rate: $85–$100/hour/hour incorporated

Role Overview
Our client is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to support the development and expansion of enterprise data products within a modern Snowflake-based workplace. The successful candidate will contribute to data platform strategy, engineering standards, cloud technologies, and the delivery of scalable data solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to data, cloud, and software engineering professionals.
- Collaborate with technical leadership to establish engineering direction, architecture, and technology strategies.
- Assess and implement integrations that support enterprise data discovery, accessibility, and data-as-a-product initiatives.
- Partner with platform and technology teams to evaluate and introduce tools that address both immediate and long-term data engineering requirements.
- Work collaboratively with enterprise technology teams to promote shared development practices and reusable solutions.
- Partner with program and delivery leads to prioritize initiatives, maintain the team's technical backlog, and communicate progress on key deliverables.
- Establish and enhance DevOps practices that improve engineering efficiency, deployment processes, and overall developer experience.
- Design and implement scalable data pipelines, data platforms, data lakes, and data warehouse solutions.
- Contribute to the development and optimization of cloud-based data architectures and applications.
Required Qualifications
- 6+ years of professional experience in data engineering or technology environments, including delivery of complex, enterprise-scale initiatives.
- 4+ years of hands-on experience developing data platforms, applications, and pipelines using cloud technologies.
- Strong understanding of modern data engineering, analytics architectures, databases, and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- 2+ years of experience within Asset Management, Capital Markets, Investment Management, or a closely related financial services environment.
- Strong experience with Snowflake and modern data warehouse technologies.
- Hands-on experience with ETL development, including Informatica/PowerCenter, PL/SQL, SQL Server, and database performance optimization.
- Experience designing and supporting data ingestion and transformation workflows.
- Strong programming capabilities using technologies such as Python, Java, Scala, and SQL.
- Solid knowledge of AWS services and cloud-native data technologies, including services such as S3, EC2, EKS, Glue, SageMaker, Athena, and Redshift.
- Experience with API development, integration solutions, and microservices architectures.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, negotiation, and influencing abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to make sound technical decisions, manage competing priorities, drive change, and deliver measurable outcomes.
