The Quality Assurance Automation Tester is responsible for Automated testing activities for large and complex software applications. The ideal candidate is skilled in different testing methodologies, has the ability to interpret testing scope into tangible test scripts and have the ability to problem solve and remove obstacles that prevent testing progress. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional technical,analytical and communication skills. Strong knowledge of procedures and methodologies in the areas of Quality Assurance and Test Automationwould be a requirement. The Quality Assurance Automation Tester assures that the Automated testing supports the validation of software application according to the test cases.THE ROLE IN A NUTSHELLCreate automated test scripts based on test cases, pre-conditions and data setup requirements.Update and maintain Object libraries and Automation Framework components.Maintain the automated test scripts for various applications.Debug and deliver fully functional automated test scripts.Mentor and support Quality Assurance testers in executing automated test scripts.Create test cases based on detail requirements documentation for all types of testing methodsProvide input in the creation of test plans based on detail requirements documentation for all types of testing methodsExecute test cases using both manual and automated testing toolsCreate and maintain test scripts for data setup and manipulationDocument defects related to testing completedParticipate in defect triage meetingsParticipate in root cause defect analysisAttend and participate in project meetingsEnsure established testing processes are followedEnsure completion and accuracy of testing documentationProvide time estimates for testing assignmentsTrack and report on testing process metricsParticipate in requirement review sessions and provide relevant feedbackProvide inputs to the Automation test strategy for each project to the supervisor/managerContribute to the improvement and advancement of Automation QA practicesWHO WE'RE LOOKING FORWHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:University Degree or College Diploma in Computer Science, or equivalentMinimum 4 years’ experience testing various computer software applications utilizing multiple testing and project management (Waterfall or Agile) methodologiesMinimum 3 years’ experience in creating, modifying and updating automated test scripts or Successful completion of approved Automation Tool courseAdvanced knowledge of Automated Testing Tools such as UFT/Selenium or Successful completion of approvedAutomation Tool course which provides advanced knowledge of the Automated Testing Tools.Hands on experience with scripting language such as VB script / C# and SQL scriptsor Successful completion of approved scripting courseFundamental Knowledge of Programming/ Scripting Languages like Python, PowerShell and Java Script or Successful completion of approved courseAdvanced knowledge of automated testing configuration, build and release management or Successful completion of approved Automation Tool courseExperience in STLC (Software Testing Life Cycle) and DLC (Defect life cycle)Demonstrated experience with developing and running SQL queries at a basic levelWorking knowledge of the SDLC (System Development Life Cycle)Working knowledge of TFS (Team Foundation Server) or equivalent test case and bug tracking toolsExcellent problem solving and investigational skillsExcellent communication skills both oral and writtenDemonstrated analytical skills and emphasis on accuracyGood interpersonal skills to effectively work in a team environmentStrong organization skills and the ability to work within tight deadlines with attention to detail and accuracyTRAINING PERIOD:The training period for this position is 60 calendar days.Salary range for this position is in accordance with Article 22 of the Collective Agreement.This position is posted in accordance with Article 13 of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.THE CULTUREWe believe a career should be meaningful.
