Duties and Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Director, IT Resources & Vendor Strategy, the position is accountable for providing coordinated administrative, financial, and operational support across all ITS units, including the Office of the CIO, Finance & Administration, Enterprise & Applications, Infrastructure, Cybersecurity and Research Computing.

The role supports leadership across ITS by ensuring alignment of administrative processes, financial tracking, and executive coordination. The incumbent serves as a central resource supporting cross-functional activities, including CIO-level coordination, financial administration, and operational support to directors and managers.

Qualifications:

The incumbent must possess the following qualifications:

- The incumbent must demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the University’s related systems and applications, including a deep understanding and wide knowledge of University and departmental polices.
- Thorough knowledge of University accounting and budgetary polices & procedures is required in order for the incumbent to determine the appropriate treatment of fiscal administrative issues, as well as to provide accurate accounting and budgeting guidance to the department. This is demonstrated through a basic knowledge of Banner and QUICK.
- The incumbent must be able to communicate effectively with staff both within and outside of ITS.
- The work requires a thorough knowledge of University operating and HR/Staff policies and the capability to deal with internal and external contacts.
- The incumbent must be familiar with Carleton applications and office automation software: MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Visio, Teams, cuCollab, Banner, eShop, Travel & Expense (Concur) and FAST.
- Ability to work quickly,



independently and accurately under pressure.
- Meticulous attention to details.
- Sound judgment and the ability to make recommendations on financial and policy issues.
- Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional organizational skills and time-management skills.

Education and Experience:

The above is normally acquired through the completion of:

- Three years of post secondary education including a minimum of two years in an accredited business program with a focus on Administration or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
- Five years' experience in the areas of business administration preferably in a post-secondary setting with experience in the administration and operation of a department.
