Title: Development Officer, First Tee – Premier départ QuébecStatus: Full-timeLocation: Hybrid – Based in Greater Montréal, with a hybrid work arrangement in office 1-2 days/week, regular travel throughout Québec and occasional travel outside of provinceReports to: Chapter Head, First Tee – Premier départ QuébecSalary: $70,000 to $85,000 Organization Overview First Tee – Premier départ Québec is a youth development program governed by Golf Canada that uses golf as a platform to offer children from all backgrounds the opportunity to develop transformational life skills through sport. As a leader in the community, First Tee – Premier départ Québec serves youth from equity deserving communities, engaging them in programs that combine golf instruction with character-building education. The program has experienced rapid growth since launch in 2021 with over 30,000 children engaged annually.

Staff, working closely with national Golf Canada Foundation staff, have cultivated a passionate and supportive donor base to continue to drive impact in the province. The successful applicant will continue the success achieved to date while also working to ensure the program is healthy, sustainable and impactful for years to come. Position Summary The future is bright for golf in Canada, and you will be playing a vital role in growing the game with First Tee, Golf Canada’s flagship junior program.

First

Tee – Premier départ Québec is one of six chapters representing all 10 provinces in Canada, with the Development Officer being responsible for fundraising and development in the province of Québec.

The Development Officer, First Tee – Premier départ Québec will report directly to the Chapter Head, First Tee – Premier départ Québec, and will lead an ambitious fundraising strategy by overseeing and managing donor relations and stewardship activities across key fundraising programs.

The Development

Officer will be responsible for assisting Chapter Head in meeting fundraising targets through donations from the public, third party events, professional and amateur championships, First Tee – Premier départ Québec Cup, auctions, and raffles.

Duties and Responsibilities

Fundraising (85%)

- Support the Chapter Head in meeting annual revenue target
- Identify, cultivate,



pitch and close prospects in the $1,000 to $10,000 range
- Plan, manage and evaluate all fundraising campaigns and stewardship events with existing and prospective partners and donors
- Research fundraising opportunities and write grant applications
- Manage First Tee – Premier départ Québec Ambassador Committee, including, but not limited to recruitment, organization of quarterly meetings, and related administrative tasks
- Plan and execute annual First Tee – Premier départ Québec Cup, the Chapter’s major fundraising golf tournament
- Contribute to the creation and implementation of donor communication strategies
- Act as a first point of contact for all donor inquiries

Administration (15%)

- Manage the donor gift cycle including identifying prospects, soliciting and stewarding donors
- Manage pledges, invoicing, and payment receipts with the Golf Canada Foundation operations team
- Create reports on budget projections and year-to-date results
- Work collaboratively with Chapter Head and Program Staff to enhance the donor experience
- Work closely with the finance team on year-end reconciliation

Desired knowledge, skills, and abilities:

- University/college degree preferred
- 3 to 5 years’ experience in fundraising in not-for-profit organizations
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, in both French and English
- Demonstrated experience managing a budget and revenue targets
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and digital skills
- Ability to work independently and proactively
- Grant writing experience (asset)
- Database experience (asset)
- Knowledge of golf (asset)

Compensation Package:

- Annual Salary of $70,000 to $85,000
- 2-week office closure during winter break
- Annual bonus (confirmed based on organizational performance)
- ½ -day Fridays in summer months

NOTE: The Golf Canada's regular hours of work are 40 hours per week, namely Monday to Friday, 8 hours a day and 5 days a week including a one-hour lunch. However, the demands of your position may mean that your hours of work will vary,



may be irregular and will be the hours required to meet the objectives of your employment.
