CGI is seeking a Director Consulting, Health Technology & Transformation to provide senior technical and health industry leadership across the Atlantic Business Unit.

As a Director Consulting Expert Health Technology & Transformation, you will serve as a senior technical and solution advisory leader for CGI's health clients and strategic health initiatives across Atlantic Canada.

Working with Directors of Consulting Services, account leaders, architects, delivery leaders, and technology specialists, you will bring deep health sector and technical expertise to strategic client opportunities and complex transformation initiatives.

You will lead technical discovery, solution shaping, technology strategy, architecture alignment, and senior technical assurance, helping CGI convert client priorities into credible, secure, and executable solutions.

You will help clients understand how digital health platforms, enterprise applications, integration, interoperability, data, AI, cloud, cybersecurity, and automation can be applied to address their clinical, administrative, and operational priorities.

You will also help CGI develop a more cohesive health technology capability across Atlantic Canada by connecting local client needs with CGI's broader health expertise, reusable assets, delivery capabilities, intellectual property, and alliance partner solutions.

What You'll Bring

Your future duties and responsibilities

Health Technology Advisory

- Serve as a senior health technology advisor to client technology leaders, digital health executives, operational leaders, clinical stakeholders, architects, and transformation teams.
- Bring the appropriate technical expertise into strategic client discussions and opportunities by collaborating across CGI's account, consulting, architecture, and delivery teams.
- Lead technical discovery sessions, current state assessments, architecture reviews, option analyses, and technology roadmap development.
- Translate clinical, operational, administrative, and business requirements into practical technology strategies and solution approaches.
- Advise clients on digital health modernization, enterprise architecture, interoperability, integration, data platforms, AI adoption, cloud transformation, cybersecurity, automation, and application modernization.
- Help clients evaluate technology alternatives, dependencies, risks, implementation considerations, and total cost of ownership.
- Ensure recommendations reflect healthcare delivery realities, privacy, security, clinical workflow, data governance, regulatory requirements, and organizational readiness.
- Communicate complex technology considerations clearly to technical and non technical stakeholders.

Technical Opportunity Shaping
- Partner with account and industry leaders to assess and shape strategic health opportunities.
- Provide technical leadership during early opportunity qualification by assessing feasibility, complexity, capability requirements, delivery risks, and potential solution approaches.
- Lead or support technical discovery workshops, solutioning sessions, demonstrations, proofs of concept, and architecture discussions.
- Develop high level solution architectures, technology roadmaps, implementation approaches, estimates, assumptions, dependencies, and risk assessments.
- Coordinate input from CGI specialists across digital health, cloud, data and AI, cybersecurity, application services, managed services, enterprise platforms, and systems integration.
- Connect Atlantic Canadian opportunities with CGI capabilities, accelerators, intellectual property, case studies, delivery centres, and alliance partner technologies.
- Ensure proposed solutions are technically credible, differentiated, scalable, secure, and aligned with the client environment.
- Provide senior technical input into proposals, presentations, statements of work, business cases, and competitive procurements.
- Participate in client presentations and procurement processes as CGI's senior health technology subject matter expert.
- Help create a clear transition from opportunity shaping into detailed design, mobilization, and delivery.

Health Architecture and Solution Leadership
- Provide architecture and solution leadership across complex health transformation initiatives.




- Assess how individual technologies and initiatives fit within a client's enterprise architecture, digital health strategy, and long term operating model.
- Guide solution teams in developing integrated architectures spanning applications, data, integration, cloud, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and user experience.
- Promote interoperability, reuse, scalability, security, maintainability, and alignment with relevant health sector standards.
- Provide expertise in health data exchange, integration patterns, APIs, interoperability frameworks, and standards such as HL7 and FHIR where applicable.
- Support the modernization and integration of electronic medical record, electronic health record, claims, benefits, case management, scheduling, patient engagement, clinical, and administrative platforms.
- Identify technical risks, architecture gaps, capability constraints, and dependencies before they affect implementation.
- Help clients avoid isolated technology investments by promoting enterprise level roadmaps and sustainable architecture decisions.

Delivery Assurance and Technical Governance
- Provide senior technical oversight for strategic or high risk health engagements.
- Support engagement mobilization by validating solution scope, architecture, resource requirements, delivery assumptions, and technical dependencies.
- Participate in architecture governance, design reviews, technical risk reviews, and executive steering discussions where appropriate.
- Work with delivery leaders to ensure implementation remains aligned with the agreed solution strategy and client outcomes.
- Provide escalation support for complex technical, architectural, integration, or health domain issues.
- Help delivery teams navigate client technology environments, governance processes, privacy requirements, and health sector constraints.
- Review significant solution changes to assess their effect on scope, risk, cost, architecture, and long term maintainability.
- Capture lessons learned and reusable technical assets from health engagements.

Capability Development
- Help define the health technology capabilities required to support CGI's Atlantic health strategy.
- Collaborate with CGI's account, industry, and technology leaders to identify market needs, emerging technology trends, capability gaps, and areas in which CGI can differentiate.
- Develop reusable health technology assets, reference architectures, assessment methods, solution patterns, demonstrations, and points of view.
- Connect Atlantic teams with CGI health experts, architects, delivery centres, and technology practices across Canada and globally.
- Mentor architects, consultants, and technical team members working within the health portfolio.
- Help improve health industry fluency among CGI's technical teams and technology fluency among CGI's health consulting and account teams.
- Support the identification and development of technical talent required for current and future health opportunities.
- Represent CGI in health technology forums, industry working groups, technical conferences, and partner discussions as appropriate.
- Maintain current knowledge of health technology developments, emerging standards, cybersecurity threats, platform capabilities, and industry leading practices.

Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role

- Twelve or more years of experience in health technology consulting, digital health, enterprise architecture, solution architecture, systems integration, technology transformation, or a related field.
- Significant experience working within or advising the Canadian healthcare sector.
- Demonstrated experience designing, shaping, or overseeing complex technology solutions in healthcare or another highly regulated workplace.
- Strong understanding of healthcare delivery environments and the relationship between clinical, operational, administrative, and technology requirements.
- Experience leading technical discovery, architecture assessments, technology roadmaps, option analyses, and solution design activities.
- Broad technical knowledge across digital health platforms, enterprise and solution architecture, systems integration and interoperability, health data and analytics, AI and intelligent automation, cloud, cybersecurity, application modernization, and enterprise platforms.
- Understanding of health interoperability concepts, integration patterns, APIs, and applicable standards such as HL7 and FHIR.




- Experience contributing to proposals, requests for proposal, statements of work, estimates, technical presentations, and competitive pursuits.
- Ability to assess technical feasibility, solution complexity, delivery risk, architecture alignment, and capability requirements.
- Strong executive communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to business, clinical, operational, and executive audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate across business development, account management, architecture, consulting, delivery, and technology teams.
- Ability to provide technical leadership without needing to personally design or build every component of a solution.
- A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Health Informatics, Health Administration, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to obtain any reliability or security clearances required by CGI clients.
- Willingness to travel within Atlantic Canada and elsewhere in Canada as required.

Key Assets
- Experience working with a Canadian provincial health system, health authority, healthcare provider, payer, insurer, government health department, health benefits organization, or professional health association.
- Experience with electronic health records, electronic medical records, health information exchange, claims and benefits platforms, clinical systems, patient engagement platforms, or digital front door solutions.
- Experience modernizing complex legacy environments involving multiple vendors, platforms, integration technologies, and data sources.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud in regulated or health sector environments.
- Experience with data platforms, analytics, machine learning, Generative AI, Responsible AI, and AI governance in healthcare.
- Experience with enterprise architecture frameworks, architecture governance, technology portfolio management, and modernization roadmaps.
- Familiarity with Canadian health information privacy, security, data residency, and information governance requirements.
- Experience working with major health technology vendors, enterprise application providers, or cloud and platform partners.
- Relevant certifications in enterprise architecture, cloud, cybersecurity, data, AI, project delivery, or health informatics.
- A graduate degree in Health Informatics, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, Health Administration, or a related field.

CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $100,000–$190,000. This role is an existing vacancy.
