Position Title: Early Childhood Educator Assistant

Hours: Permanent part time, Hours will vary between 10-15 hours per week

Starting Date: Sept 8, 2026

Rate of Pay: $25.17/hour per BCGEU Collective Agreement, Grid Level 6

The after-school program will run from September until the end of June each year. Duties and Responsibilities:

We are seeking a hardworking, enthusiastic person who will provide assistance in an after-school program In an elementary school setting. Duties include providing a safe, nurturing, atmosphere for kindergarten and/or school-age children, interacting with and supervising children and communicating with parents.

Qualifications:

Education: a responsible adult, minimum 19 years of age with 20 hours duration of Child Development, Guidance, Health and Safety or Nutrition courses.

Experience: Previous work experience in a similar environment is required.

Skills: Well developed oral and written communication, positive organization and time management skills.



Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate developmental activities. The ability to function independently, under pressure, while managing emergency situations is an ongoing expectation of this position.

Additional Requirements:

· Successful criminal record screening.

· Membership with the BCGEU.

· Valid childcare first aid certification.
