Salary range: $108,741 to $123,413 per year, 37.5 hours/week

Reporting to the Manager, Early Childhood development, the Early Childhood Officer, Centre Start-Up supports the establishment and initial licensing of new childcare centres, as required by the Canada-Wide Agreement, and monitors early childhood programs and services, as needed, to ensure compliance with the directions and provisions of the Child Day Care Act and Regulations along with other applicable legislation, regulations, directives, policies, procedures, etc. The role promotes awareness of early childhood issues within Nunavut communities; supports community-based non-profit organizations to plan and develop quality / culturally appropriate early childhood education and care programs.
