Editor – Agriculture

We’re currently looking for a driven Editor to join our team.

About the Role The editor leads the creation of high-quality, technically driven content across multiple platforms, ensuring it meets the needs and expectations of our audience. This role is part of our Agriculture group, managing the brands Fruit & Vegetable and Top Crop Manager East.

We cover a broad range of topics, including row crop production, commercial fruit and vegetable production, plant breeding, crop protection, fertility and nutrients, R&D;, technology, market trends, business management and of course, all things in between.

We reach our audience through print, websites, enewsletters, podcasts, social media, video, and our own series of live and virtual events. You will also get to be part of a larger agriculture team that collaborates on innovative projects and supports each other as needed.

What You Will Do

- Embed yourself in the industry to keep our readers in the know when it comes to the latest industry research, news, trends, products, and technologies.
- Create original industry-leading content on a weekly basis that positions the brands as must-reads on all platforms.
- Source, partner with and edit contributions from freelance writers and industry experts.
- Drive engagement and growth across digital channels including websites, e-news, social media, video, webinars, podcasts and more in our quest to reach our audience wherever they are with information that supports their business.
- Work closely with your brand team to meet goals.
- Host, attend and report on industry events.




- Build and foster relationships with industry stakeholders, partners and associations.
- Identify emerging trends and bring forward innovative ideas to keep our content fresh and relevant.

What the Ideal Annex Candidate Looks Like

- In addition to a degree/diploma in journalism or related field, you have three or more years’ experience in editing, writing or journalism.
- A valid driver’s license and enthusiasm for travel within and outside of Canada.
- Experience covering technical research or business sectors is an asset.
- Ability to work together to achieve the best results with a proven can do/will do attitude. You take ownership over all you do.
- You value frequent communication with your team.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct interviews, ask thoughtful questions and gather actionable insights in a skilled manner.
- You are comfortable speaking in front of groups whether in-person or virtually.
- Experience with creating content for multiple distribution channels, including print, digital, email, video, podcasts and social media.
- Great organizational abilities, as well as strong computer skills.
- You meet deadlines without compromising quality.
- Holds a track record of going above and beyond to deliver the unexpected.
- Ability to adapt in a constantly evolving media business, with a shining work ethic and a growth mindset.
- Capable of working remotely from a home office as well as in one of our office locations as required.
- You have a background,



interest in or strong curiosity about agriculture (an ag background is an asset, but not required).

Base Salary Range: $62,000 - $72,000

*Profit sharing and employee dividends are in addition to this.
