About the RoleSR Research Ltd. is seeking a hands-on Electromechanical Manufacturing Technician to join our team in Oakville, Ontario. In this role, you will assemble, inspect, calibrate, test, and troubleshoot precision systems incorporating electronics, mechanical components, optics, and highly sensitive sensors. Essential Job Roles and ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will:
- Perform inspection, subassemblies, final assemblies, calibration, and functional testing, including electromechanical, optical lenses, and highly sensitive sensor systems, using approved work procedures, quality procedures, and QNX-based system interfaces where applicable.
- Inspect incoming electronics, mechanical components, optics, and sensors against defined acceptance criteria and production documentation.
- Troubleshoot and repair returned products (RMA), including fault isolation, corrective actions, and documentation of findings, supporting system-level verification activities.
- Apply working knowledge of electrical interfaces and connectors such as parallel ports, AUX, BNC, and LEMO cables during assembly, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Maintain accurate production documentation and data records, including standard operating procedures, manufacturing data records, calibration logs, inspection reports, test results, and traceability documentation.
QualificationsThe successful candidate must possess the following qualifications and experience:
- Diploma in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in electronics, mechanical, wiring and system assembly, integration, quality control, and root cause analysis.
- Hands-on experience with electronics, mechanical components, sensors, and optics.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing and inspection standards, including IPC J-STD-001, IPC-A-610, IPC/JEDEC J-STD-033B.1, and IPC 7711/7721.
- Knowledge of QNX operating systems is a plus.
- Strong skills in wiring, through-hole and SMT soldering, rework on microchips is an asset, and use of production tools and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, and work instructions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within production and cross-functional teams.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with disciplined documentation and traceability practices.
