**Note on Why This Role Is Open
After a rewarding two-year run, our current EA is heading off to pursue full-time higher education - an exciting next chapter that unfortunately doesn’t allow for a remote continuation of the role. You'll get the opportunity to occupy the trusted right-hand spot to a CEO who refers to all employees as his trusted work partners. Plus, you’ll have a head start: your predecessor will personally onboard you, sharing firsthand knowledge, context, systems, and lessons learned from nearly two years in the role.
The Opportunity
CanBiocin has had an extraordinary year following a significant strategic investment in 2025 from a major French multinational, with US$ 3.5 billion in annual revenue, accelerating our next stage of global growth. At our labs and production facilities in Edmonton, our busy, lean, and ambitious team works at the intersection of science, business, and health innovation to develop species‑specific probiotic solutions that improve animal, human and environmental health and wellbeing.
Here, there are no narrow lanes - everyone has an opportunity to make an impact. At this stage of our growth, we are looking to welcome an executive assistant (and a reliable right-hand) to our CEO.
Elements of this role are familiar: calendar and complex travel management, handling confidential communications, and coordination with stakeholders on all fronts. Yet, there is an unusually broad opportunity to learn as you’ll be sitting at the intersection of leadership, business strategy, and operational execution - with exposure to virtually every part of the business. You’ll get to work directly with the CEO of a growing biotechnology company and advise on key decisions that will steer the business.
If the opportunity to help a fast-growing biotech scale responsibly while advancing our mission to deliver life-changing probiotics supporting animal, human and environmental health and wellness around the world resonates with you, we’d love to hear from you!
