Job Summary

We are looking for a highly skilled Manual Machinist to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in producing accurate, high-quality parts, can work independently on complex setups, and has robust experience with manual equipment—including horizontal boring mills, vertical mills, and vertical lathes. You will be responsible for full-cycle machining: reviewing drawings, planning setups, machining components, and verifying dimensional accuracy to meet tight tolerances.

Responsibilities

- Perform setups and machining operations on manual horizontal boring mills, vertical mills, and lathes
- Interpret and review engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions
- Select tooling, determine machining sequences, and plan job workflows
- Conduct quality checks using micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, height gauges, and other instruments
- Maintain accuracy to required tolerances and ensure parts meet specification
- Troubleshoot machining challenges and adjust processes as needed
- Maintain a clean, organized work area and comply with safety standards
- Work independently and collaborate with the team to meet production targets
- Follow safety protocols including the use of hand tools, power tools,



welding equipment, and other manufacturing tools.
- Assist in assembly processes when required, ensuring parts meet quality standards before final inspection.
- Support lean manufacturing initiatives by identifying opportunities for process improvements and waste reduction.

Requirements

- Minimum 5 years of experience as a manual machinist (boring and vertical mill experience preferred)
- Strong ability to read and interpret drawings and GD&T;
- Experience holding tight tolerances on large and small components
- Knowledge of tooling, feeds & speeds, part setups, and machining best practices
- Proficiency with precision measuring instruments and QA inspection processes
- Ability to work independently and manage workflow
- Strong problem-solving and mechanical aptitude

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $32.50-$42.50 per hour
