Vacancy Status: New Role
Role:
As the Financial Analyst, Tax & Operations, you will work closely with the corporate and property accounting teams to support tax compliance, reporting, and financial operations. You will play a key role in coordinating tax-related activities, maintaining compliance, and supporting various financial processes and projects. You will also:
- Manage/execute indirect tax: Prepare, reconcile and file monthly/quarterly GST, HST and QST at the corporate level. Be the point of contact with respect to monthly/quarterly GST, HST and QST filings at the property level.
- Manage/prepare corporate returns: Prepare, review, and file various annual corporate filings (including T2 corporate and T3 trust income tax returns), as well as work collaboratively with our external specialists.
- Administer CRA compliance: Handle CRA correspondence, address requests for information, and file formal tax adjustment requests.
- Project manage compliance calendars: Track and enforce strict statutory tax deadlines across multiple legal entities and joint ventures.
- Reconcile accounts: Maintain and reconcile balance sheet and intercompany accounts.
- Ad hoc project assistance: Perform all other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
To excel in this role, we are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical professional with experience in accounting and tax compliance. If this opportunity sounds interesting to you, you likely have the following attributes:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field.
- Minimum 2- 4 years of accounting/tax experience.
- REIT or commercial real estate industry experience is an asset.
- Familiarity with Yardi ERP system is an asset.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Visio).
- Robust analytical skills,
attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
- Practical knowledge of the Income Tax Act understanding.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships across various stakeholders or multiple levels of management including communication with external consultants.
- Must be flexible and is able to handle multiple priorities at the same time.

Compensation:
At Primaris, we believe in rewarding talent with competitive wages and total compensation package. Your compensation is thoughtfully determined based on factors such as location, job level, relevant education or training, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, while ensuring internal equity and alignment with market data.
Expected Salary Range: CAD $70,000 – $75,000
