We're looking for a highly organized, detail-oriented Financial & Operations Administrator who wants more than just another accounting job. What You'll Do
You'll be responsible for the daily financial and administrative operations of O'Shaughnessy House, ensuring accurate financial management while supporting the smooth operation of the organization.
Your responsibilities will include
Financial Management
- Maintaining accurate accounting records and general ledger entries.
- Processing accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll.
- Completing monthly reconciliations, including bank accounts, credit cards and petty cash.
- Preparing deposits, cheques and financial disbursements.
- Managing statutory reporting, including HST, CRA remittances and Records of Employment.
- Preparing monthly financial statements and management reports.
- Supporting annual budgeting, audits and year-end reporting.
- Monitoring grants, restricted funding and organizational assets.
- Providing financial analysis to support organizational decision-making.
- Working collaboratively with external accountants, auditors and Board representatives.
Operations & Administration
- Supporting staff scheduling coordination and leave tracking.
- Providing administrative support to the Executive Director and leadership team.
- Processing donations and communicating with donors.
- Assisting with fundraising administration
- Supporting office administration, document management and organizational communications.
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and special projects.
What You'll Bring
You're organized, dependable and enjoy taking ownership of your work. If you have experience in accounting or financial administration and enjoy supporting a mission that makes a difference, we'd love to hear from you.
You'll ideally have
- Diploma in Accounting, Business Administration or a related field (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
- 3–5 years of accounting or financial administration experience.
- Experience with accounting software, payroll and Microsoft 365.
- Strong attention to detail, sound judgment and excellent organizational skills.
- The ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.
Experience working in a non-profit or unionized environment would be considered an asset.
