General Manager

Salary: CA$80,000–CA$100,000 per year, depending on experience

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven General Manager to lead the operations of an established hotel. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall performance of the property, including guest satisfaction, financial performance, team development, revenue generation, operational standards, and brand compliance.

This position is ideal for an experienced hospitality leader who can build a strong team, improve operational performance, and deliver consistent financial and guest service results.

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee all daily hotel operations and ensure smooth and efficient performance across all departments.
- Maintain compliance with applicable IHG, Hilton, or Marriott brand standards, policies, procedures, and quality requirements.
- Lead, coach, mentor, and develop department heads and hotel associates.
- Drive guest satisfaction, service quality, online reputation, and effective guest recovery.
- Monitor hotel revenue, occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, labor costs, departmental expenses, and overall profitability.
- Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, financial reports, and operational action plans.
- Develop strategies to increase revenue through sales, local business relationships, community engagement, and revenue management.
- Work closely with ownership, regional operations leadership, brand representatives, and other stakeholders to achieve property objectives.
- Ensure appropriate staffing, scheduling, training, performance management, and employee engagement.
- Conduct regular property inspections and ensure guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas meet brand and operational standards.
- Lead property improvement projects, renovations, PIP requirements,



and capital improvements when required.
- Review guest feedback, quality scores, operational reports, and financial results to identify areas for improvement.
- Establish clear expectations and accountability for all department leaders.
- Promote a positive workplace culture focused on teamwork, accountability, service excellence, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, employment, and other applicable regulatory requirements.

Qualifications – Essential
- Previous experience with IHG, Hilton, or Marriott is required.
- Minimum 3–10 years of progressive hotel leadership experience, including previous General Manager, Assistant General Manager, Director of Operations, or senior hotel management experience.
- Proven track record of achieving strong operational, guest satisfaction, and financial results.
- Strong understanding of hotel P&L; management, budgeting, forecasting, labor management, and revenue performance.
- Experience with hotel renovations, PIP projects, repositioning, or major property improvements is highly desirable.
- Strong leadership, communication, financial management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to recruit, develop, motivate, and retain a high-performing hotel team.
- Robust knowledge of hotel operations and hospitality best practices.
- Experience working with hotel PMS, reporting systems, and Microsoft Office.
- Legal authorization to work in Canada.
