Job Information
The Geomatics Data Coordinator is responsible for coordinating activities to enhance the interoperability and exchange of geographic data and information to support and enhance decision making effectiveness for the Government of Northwest Territories (GNWT) and to help maximize the value of geomatics services. By providing coordination and technical support, you will pursue activities that result in a cooperative approach to data discovery, acquisition, development and distribution within the GNWT.
Key Responsibilities
- Acts as the Client Liaison for the NWT Centre for Geomatics (NWTCG).
- Participate in the ongoing improvement of Geomatics Services within the NWTCG and the GNWT.
- Provides alternate administrator support for the GNWT Enterprise Geospatial Systems and related applications.
- Administer the spatial data catalogue and NW Centre for Geomatics Website.
- Administration of Environmental Systems Research Institute and GIS software contracts and licenses.
Key Qualifications
- A university degree in computer science, remote sensing, or Geographic Information Systems (GIS) with 2 years of work experience related to spatial data management.
Equivalencies
- A University degree with a post-secondary diploma in GIS or remote sensing and 2 years of related work experience in an area of spatial data management.
- All other equivalencies will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
