We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Greenhouse Supervisor to lead our horticultural operations within a vibrant greenhouse environment. In this role, you will oversee daily plant care, manage irrigation systems, and ensure optimal growing conditions to produce healthy, high-quality plants. Your leadership will drive team performance, maintain equipment, and uphold safety standards, all while fostering a passion for gardening and sustainable practices.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone eager to combine mechanical knowledge with horticultural expertise to create a thriving greenhouse space. Please note there is no public transportation available.

Responsibilities

- Supervise daily greenhouse activities, including watering, and pest management
- Oversee irrigation systems, ensuring proper operation and timely adjustments for optimal plant health
- Maintain and troubleshoot greenhouse equipment, including ventilation, heating, cooling, and lighting systems
- Lead a team of staff, providing training on plant care techniques and safety procedures
- Use hand tools and mechanical knowledge to repair or modify equipment as needed
- Monitor environmental conditions such as humidity, temperature, and light levels to promote healthy growth
- Perform heavy lifting of plants,



soil bags, and equipment safely and efficiently while adhering to safety protocols

Requirements

- Proven experience in horticulture or gardening with a strong understanding of plant care practices
- Mechanical knowledge related to greenhouse systems and equipment maintenance
- Ability to operate hand tools safely and effectively for repairs or adjustments
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations related to irrigation and fertilization schedules
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting tasks and prolonged periods of standing or walking
- Knowledge of irrigation systems and troubleshooting techniques
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in maintaining records
- Chemical application certificate or licence
- Fertilizer applicator
- Sprayer or duster
- Ability to distinguish between colours
