Summary
Provides clerical and records management support for patient health records, including retrieving, organizing, scanning, indexing, and maintaining records. Ensures patient information is accurate and complete, processes electronic records, prepares files for storage, maintains statistics, and supports the secure release of patient information in accordance with established procedures.

Education
- Grade 12, plus one year's recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deal with others effectively.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
- Ability to organize work.
- Ability to operate related equipment.
- Ability to keyboard at 40 wpm.

Your Day to Day:
- Retrieves, maintains, and updates patient records using computerized record systems.
- Processes, assembles, files, and verifies patient charts and documentation.
- Identifies and corrects patient information, including duplicate records and registrations.
- Locates and delivers patient charts in response to requests.
- Prepares, scans, indexes, and verifies electronic patient records.
- Resolves documentation issues with Registration and other departments.
- Processes urgent requests for patient information to support continuity of care.
- Performs reception duties, including answering calls, directing visitors, and providing information.
- Prepares records for offsite storage and retrieves files when required.
- Maintains census records, supplies, and provides orientation to new staff and students.
