If you're driven by purpose and energized by solving real-world challenges, we want you on our team.Job Type: Full TimePosition OverviewThe Manager, Managed Security Services (SOC) is responsible for the successful delivery of high-quality managed security services in alignment with Statements of Work (SOWs) and service level commitments. This role provides leadership, mentoring, and active coaching to SOC analysts while ensuring exceptional customer outcomes, operational efficiency, and continuous service improvement. The position blends strategic leadership with hands-on technical expertise across SIEM, EDR/XDR, and global security operations in a hybrid environment.ResponsibilitiesLead day-to-day operations of SOC analysts and oversee 24/7/365 monitoring, including MSSP relationshipsDefine, maintain, and improve SOC playbooks, runbooks, SOPs, triage procedures, and knowledge base contentEnforce and manage SLAs, KPIs, and OLAs (e.G., MTTD, MTTR, alert quality)Supervise incident investigations, root cause analysis, and quality assurance reviewsDrive process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, scalability, and service valueEnsure accurate resource assignment, workload prioritization, and scheduling aligned to SOWsLead departmental and customer-facing meetings, delivering clear and effective communicationsBuild and maintain strong customer relationships, managing escalations as a trusted partnerCoach, mentor, and develop team members through structured feedback, QA assessments, and performance managementRecognize and reward behaviors that improve customer loyalty and team collaborationSupport new service launches, RFPs/RFQs, customer onboardings, and service performance improvementsPrepare executive-level reporting and briefings on investigations and service metricsRepresent the organization at industry events and begin establishing thought leadershipQualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Engineering, Information Systems,



or equivalent experience7+ years of cybersecurity experience in a SOC, MSSP, or client-focused security environment2+ years leading cybersecurity projects or initiatives with measurable business impactDemonstrated experience managing SOC teams, incident response programs, or MSSP operationsExpert knowledge of SIEM, SOAR, EDR/XDR, IDS/IPS, vulnerability management, and cloud security platformsFamiliarity with Azure and/or GCP security controlsExperience with MITRE ATT&CK, penetration testing methodologies, and incident responseStrong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skillsExperience preparing briefings for senior leadership and customer stakeholdersAdditional RequirementsSecurity certifications preferred (e.G., SANS GIAC/GCIH, EC-Council, CompTIA, CISSP, CISM)Experience with ELK Stack, Windows and *nix systems, and log analysisProgramming Or Scripting Experience PreferredWillingness and demonstrated ability to adopt and effectively use AI toolsQA implementation and oversight experienceAbility to work in a hybrid environment and participate in on-call or escalation support as requiredCompensationSalary Range: $140,000-$150,000VacancyWe have 1 available position for this role.# #SF#AI Usage DisclosureAt Calian, we do not use Artificial Intelligence (AI) to screen or evaluate candidates.
