BRANCH/DEPARTMENT: Human Resources

REPORTS TO: Director, Human Resources The Role The Human Resources Business Partner provides excellent client service by acting as a business partner to the Human Resources Team and Hiring Leaders to support a variety of Human Resources programs with a focus on leading the recruitment and selection process at YNCU. In addition to being a recruitment lead, the HRBP is a well-rounded generalist that provides a full range of value-added HR services and actively partners where needed to bring the Human Resources Business Plan to life.

- Partner with Hiring Leaders and HR to understand recruitment needs, business objectives and required candidate job level, experience, characteristics, and competencies
- Provide guidance and coaching to all levels of management on recruitment-related matters to ensure recruitment needs are met
- As a subject matter expert, proactively manage and facilitate all aspects of the recruitment and selection process including but not limited to: posting positions, creating sourcing strategies, screening candidates, completing and providing interview material, completing reference checks and bonding applications, participating in offer presentation, negotiations, and contract preparation
- Work with Senior Strategic Human Resources Business Partners (SSHRBPs) and Hiring Leaders to understand roles and confirm role compensation
- Continuously work on ways to improve the recruiting process and candidate experience
- Manage the collection, tracking, analysis, and reporting of recruitment metrics
- Team up with Learning & Development to assist with an enthusiastic onboarding for new employees
- Function as a well-rounded Human Resources Generalist to support the Human Resources Team as needed in leave and disability management, labour relations including collective agreement interpretation, employee relations,



application of employment legislation, performance management, investigations, employee engagement, health and safety, employee wellness, training on HR related areas, etc.
- Support employee absences, leaves, and complex absence management, disability and return to work cases.
- Provide support for performance evaluation processes and performance management program, including assisting with the preparation of documented performance conversations, Employee Incident Reports, Performance Improvement Plans, etc.
- Partner with SSHRBPs and CHRO to design and implement HR related initiatives and projects
- Foster and maintain a high degree of trust within the relationships you build through the trademark service you provide while meeting the needs of our clients
- Provide sound guidance and advice on general HR matters, respond to inquiries, provide policy interpretation and advice to ensure adherence to HR policies, procedures, programs, Collective Agreements, and relative legislations
- Develop and maintain HR process documentation
- Assist with special projects as required
- Other duties as assigned

What We're Looking For

- Post-secondary diploma/degree in the field of human resources, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum three (3) years of previous human resources experience, and 2+ years’ experience in managing recruitment related processes and resources for all position levels including senior, manager and executive level positions

- CHRP designation preferred
- Experience working in a unionized environment
- Experience working in a financial institution is an asset
- Excellent computer skills (MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and aptitude for computer-based tools
- Valid Ontario driver’s license and available reliable vehicle
- Ability to travel to all YNCU locations
- Ability to work flexible schedule, at times
- Must be bondable
