Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated, mechanically inclined Shop Assistant to join our team. This entry-level role supports experienced technicians in maintaining, refurbishing and repairing hot runner systems for injection molds. You will gain hands-on experience with industrial equipment, precision tools, and manufacturing processes. In addition, you will learn about using temperature control and servo control equipment used in hot runner systems.

Key Responsibilities

- Shop Maintenance: Clean tools, organize workspaces, and maintain a safe shop floor.
- Tool & Parts Prep: Clean, grease, and assemble mold components under supervision.
- Equipment Operation: Safely use basic hand tools and power tools
- Material Handling: Move mold plates and heavy mold bases using cranes or forklifts.
- Team Support: Assist senior mold assembly staff with assembly, tear-downs, refurbishments, cleaning and basic troubleshooting.

Qualifications & Skills





- Mechanical Aptitude: Solid comfort level working with hands and understanding mechanical systems.
- Technical Literacy: Ability to use measuring tools and blueprints or technical drawings.
- Physical Stamina: Capability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for longer periods.
- Safety Mindset: Strict adherence to safety protocols and protective equipment (PPE) guidelines.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or skill oriented college diploma is a major plus.
