What is the Opportunity?
A member of the Performing Arts team, the Head Video Crew member is a service-oriented individual, providing technical support in a busy production facility, reporting to the Production Manager.
This is a part time contract opportunity for the Fall/Winter to cover a leave during the 2026/2027 season.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Performs role of Head Video for events in Koerner Hall as required.
- Supervises or performs technical duties for Lobby, Mazzoleni, and Temerty Theatre events.
- Provides skilled expertise in stage production methods and techniques, including lighting, audio reinforcement and recording, video and rigging techniques.
- Operates video switchers, mixers, and video recording equipment, with specialized knowledge of High Definition and Standard Definition Video systems.
- Applies specialized knowledge of computer systems, including applications for recording, computer presentation systems and facility system infrastructure as it pertains to the performance venues.
- Perform other related duties as assigned with the production team.
Requirements
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 2 years of demonstrated experience in video recording, camera operation, video switching,
and operation of corporate audio-visual events.
- Post-secondary education in Technical Theatre or Event Production, or equivalent experience.
- A knowledge and competency in internet protocols, operation, and web-streaming would be an asset in this position.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of requirements / conventions for all performance genres.
- Remains available and responsive to requests for technical advice and assistance from within the RCM.
Wage Rate
- $43.92 per hour
Additional Information
- Availability to work evenings, weekends and shift work as required by concerts and events schedule, within weekly limits. This includes 12-hour work days on show days and load-in days.
- Adheres to dress code as dictated by events.
- Remains available and responsive to requests for technical advice and assistance from within the RCM.
- Some lifting of stage items, musical instruments as required.
Unloading of items from vehicles at loading dock as required. Ability to work at heights (with safety equipment) as required.
