Salary Range: $60,000 to $75,000 CAD per year
Location: Remote - Canada
This is a new position.
ROLE OVERVIEW: As a Junior Power Platform Developer at Univerus Varasset, you’ll pair with senior developers from day one and build deep expertise across the full Microsoft Power Platform model-driven Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Pages, Copilot Studio, Power BI, and Dataverse.
We build software for a diverse portfolio of industries, with utilities and infrastructure among the largest, so what you build gets used every day by real people solving real business problems. You’ll also learn modern, AI-assisted development practices. Our team actively uses Claude Code and agentic workflows as part of how we design, build, and ship, and you’ll develop those skills alongside your platform expertise.
If you have solid programming fundamentals and a genuine appetite to learn, we’ll teach you the rest, including supporting you toward Microsoft certifications.
WHAT YOUR FIRST 6-12 MONTHS LOOK LIKE:
- Onboard by shadowing senior developers and consultants on active client projects.
- Own small, well-scoped tickets early (Power Automate flows, model-driven app configuration, Dataverse data model changes) and grow into larger features.
- Contribute to at least one client solution delivery end-to-end.
- Learn our AI-assisted development workflow with Claude Code and start using it in your daily work.
- Work toward Microsoft Power Platform certification with study time and exam costs covered.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP:
Reports directly to the Technical Lead and works closely with:
- Project Managers, Implementation Consultants and Devlopers
- QA and Testing Teams
- Stakeholders and end users
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Build, configure, and enhance business applications across the Power Platform (model driven Power Apps, Power Automate cloud flows, Power Pages portals, and Copilot Studio agents) on Dataverse.
- Collaborate with senior developers and consultants on solution design, requirements analysis, and translating business needs into working software — including participating in client-facing sessions to gather requirements and demo completed work.
- Support data modeling and integration work connecting the Power Platform to other systems.
- Troubleshoot issues related to app performance, workflows, and data integrity.
- Maintain clear documentation of configurations, customizations, and solution architecture.
• Stay current with Microsoft’s Power Platform roadmap and new capabilities, including AI features.• 1-2 years of hands-on development experience (skilled, academic, internship, or a strong personal portfolio).
- Solid programming fundamentals in C# or JavaScript, including core concepts like object oriented design and working with APIs.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with an eye for detail.
- Genuine eagerness to learn new technologies, including AI-assisted development tools, and to continuously improve.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a remote, cross-functional team.
No prior Power Platform experience is required. We’ll teach you the platform. What we can’t teach is curiosity and strong fundamentals.
