Previous experience in cabinet installation, finish carpentry, woodworking, construction or residential renovation is strongly preferred.
You should be able to:
- Accurately read measurements, layouts and technical drawings
- Work with floors and walls that are not level, plumb or square
- Scribe fillers and panels and make exact finish cuts
- Use hand tools, power tools, levels, laser levels and measuring equipment safely
- Troubleshoot problems and make sound decisions without constant supervision
- Safely lift and position cabinets and construction materials
- Work responsibly inside occupied homes
- Work independently and as part of a team
Applicants must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Having your own cabinet installation and carpentry tools is a strong asset.
Personal Character Requirements
Character matters as much as skill. We are looking for someone who is:
- Honest, ethical and trustworthy
- Punctual, dependable and hardworking
- Detail-oriented and committed to quality
- Proactive and capable of solving problems
- Respectful toward customers, coworkers and other trades
- Willing to acknowledge and correct mistakes
- Careful with customers' homes and property
- Safety-conscious
- Adaptable and willing to perform different types of renovation work
- Interested in learning and improving their skills
We value Integrity, Reliability, Workmanship, Accountability, Safety, Precision, Respect and Initiative.
If your approach is to rush through a job and leave problems for someone else to fix, this position will not be a good fit. We are looking for someone who takes ownership of their work and wants to become a dependable, long-term member of the team.
