Kids & Company is seeking a reliable and safety-focused On-Call Kitchen Driver to support the delivery of nutritious meals from our main kitchen to childcare locations. Reporting to the Head Chef, this role plays an key part in ensuring meals are delivered accurately, safely, and on time while supporting the smooth operation of our kitchen and transportation services. The successful candidate will uphold Kids & Company standards and contribute to our mission of providing exceptional care and service to children and families.

The Role

We want to work with people who are committed to going above and beyond in customer service. Those with a friendly, outgoing personality that is appropriate for a childcare center environment, as well as those with experience with children, will be given special consideration.

You will need to have a tidy appearance and respectful manners.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Deliveries

- Load vans according to delivery manifests; assist fellow drivers in the loading process
- Follow the route and schedule as stated to ensure on-time deliveries

Vehicle Maintenance and Cleaning

- Maintaining clean vehicle and cargo spaces daily
- Fleet preparation work as assigned
- Reporting issues or the appearance of warning lights immediately
- Every day, inspect functional lights and signals, as well as wear and tear





Delivery Equipment Returns

- Clean delivery bags and cambro equipment thoroughly
- Storing/organizing delivery equipment so that it is ready for use the next day

JOB REQUIREMENTS

- Availability: On-call as needed
- Hours: If called (7:00 am to 12:00 pm)
- Minimum 26 years of age (for insurance purposes)
- 3+ years of driving or work-related experience is preferred
- Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record
- Successful candidates will be required to submit their information for a background check & may require a Medical assessment
- Excellent physical condition: able to lift heavy loads (50+ lbs)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in a daycare setting would be an asset.
- Able to calmly assess problems and determine sensible solutions
