Salary Range $29.53 per hour (with wage increments to a max of $32.97 per hour). Salary and wage increments are in accordance with the Collective Agreement.

WHAT IT TAKES

- Excellent working knowledge of preventative measures required for the safe operation of a chemistry laboratory, its supplies and equipment including WHMIS.
- To have working knowledge of the operation and routine maintenance of laboratory equipment and operation.
- Good working knowledge of the English language (written and verbal).
- A demonstrated ability to:
- maintain current knowledge in the field of chemistry.
- effectively demonstrate proper laboratory techniques.
- communicate courteously and effectively in person, in writing, and over the telephone with students, faculty, administrators, staff and the public.
- work independently with a minimum direct supervision as well as establish priorities and achieve deadlines.

Additional Information

- This temporary part-time (14 hours per week) position is available starting Sept 1, 2026 to Nov 27, 2026.
- Regular hours of work fall between 8 am and 6 pm, Monday to Friday, with actual schedules varying within this window. Shift days and times may change depending on the Department’s need. Occasional evening and/or weekend work may be required.
- The position is located at the New Westminster campus; however, the successful candidate must be available for occasional work at the Coquitlam campus.
